Still a work in progress.... but getting there!

It seems like I have spent weeks and weeks putting together storage cubes and organizing - well, actually, it HAS been weeks and weeks!  But, finally, I am to the point where I thought I would share a few pics of my new craft room.  I don't have things labeled, and still have some putting away and organizing to do... but I figure it will always be a work in progress.  At least now it is a WORKABLE room in process!  This first picture shows all the storage cubes and bookshelves along the back wall.  The table in the middle has 2 leaves, so I'll be able to seat 8-10 people for classes in one place.  There is still room for my portable table too, so everyone will have lots of room to create:)

Next is one of my favorite parts of the room - my work table with a permanent home for my paper cutter right by the paper!  And a place to color with great lighting too - this is my happy place:)  The stack of boxes to the right hold storage cubes that once assembled will be another workspace providing a permanent home for my Cricut (So I might actually use it!)

This last picture is one of my dreams come true for my craft room - a permanent home for my big shot AND big shot pro with all my dies and embossing folders right there!

It's been a lot of work, but most definitely worth it as I am now enjoying creating in my new space.  I am looking forward to crafty visitors to join me too!

As I get some more organizing done I'll post some more detailed pics and info of how I am storing stamps, paper and supplies.  So come back and visit again soon!

Hello again - waving "hi" from my new crafting space!

Hello everyone!  It has been such a long time since I posted, and much has happened in the past 8 months including a remodel of the condo thanks to a water leak, a big birthday milestone for me (shhhh... I'm not telling which one;)) and a move to a new house with a big rec room in the daylight basement which is now my craft room.  After a few months of putting together storage cubes, unpacking and arranging, I was finally able to craft this weekend for the first time in months!  My crafting buddy Vicki was here for a visit and helped me get my mojo back on line in the new room.  So here I am once again ready to share some of my crafting creations with you!

There are a couple of special birthdays coming up that I wanted to created some special cards for.  Both are tri-shutter cards created by using the Sizzix Pro Tri-shutter card die.  The first is for my wonderful Mother \-in-law whose birthday is tomorrow.

I created this card using paper from the Secret Garden line by Graphic 45.  I added a few flowers from their Once Upon a Springtime paper line as well.  The stamped sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations.  My MIL loves flowers and gardening, so I thought this card would be perfect for her.

This second card is for another special lady - my mom, who will be turning 90 this summer!  I again used a mix of Graphic 45 paper - this time from A Lady's Diary and Once Upon a Springtime.  Although you can't really tell in this picture, the oval lady is covered with crystal effects and is popped up from the background to give it a cameo look.

If you would like to try some tri-shutter cards, but don't have the sizzix die, there are directions on SCS to create one from scratch HERE.  They are loads of fun, so try one out and share it with us!

I'll be sharing more later, so be sure to come back soon!  Happy Stamping!

New Ippity is HERE!

It's time for some cute new Ippity stamps, and a release day blog hop featuring all kinds of fun projects created by Ippity Chicks.  To follow the hop, go to the Ippity blog HERE where you will find the list of all the participating blogs... you won't want to miss a single one!
Today I am sharing 2 cards made with some of the new stamps being released tomorrow morning.

For the first card I used Oh My Darling - a wonderful vintage style set.  I pulled out my Tim Holtz paper stash for this card, finding the perfect match in his Crowded Attic collection.  The images are stamped in black with brown added to all the edges and corners for a distressed look.  I finished it off by adding some bakers twine and a button.  The images are matted on Early Espresso card stock from SU, which is also used for the card base.  I will add some ivory paper inside the card for writing, and may even add some more of these great images there as well.
The second card is made using the adorable and funny new set called Naughty. Nice. Not Sure.  I love all the fun phrases in this set!  I plan to check one of the options before I send this one off... which one will depend on the recipient of course!

I used some more of my Tim Holtz stash on this card, this time from his Seasonal collectionl  I stamped the Santa on white and colored him using markers before cutting him out, and then added stickles for some sparkle.  The list is a second stamp also cut out from white cardstock, then attached using dimensionals.

Don't forget to check out all the other creations on the blog hop... and ALL the new sets available on the Unity web site tomorrow... just click HERE, choose me as your chick, and shop away:)

Here is the list of all the blogs in the hop... have fun!

What's Cookin?

Today I'd like to share another card we did at card club, this one using this adorable chef from the Ippity What's Cooking stamp set. This stamp is perfect for paper piecing with fun patterned paper, an excellent option for those who don't like to color images.  I used gingham paper from Amuse to make mine... and I just love that gingham kerchief around his neck!  I added a zig zag made out of black gingham paper using a border punch, and a button with baker's twine tied in a bow.  The great thing about a card like this is that you can make it using any color combo you'd like, and it totally changes the feel of the card... a bright yellow or orange would be great too!  You can see this entire set HERE on the Unity Stamp site.

Be sure to visit again on August 29th for the Ippity new release blog hop.  See you then!
